Feist live in NY

Church of the Intercession
155th Street, Harlem
3rd Oct 2011

Wow, this was a special night.. You know it's the right time to be in New York when Feist announces a special launch show during the day of the gig and you happen to be able to get a ticket just by purchasing a copy of her new record, Metals at the local record store. I dashed out to the Soundfix records in Williamsburg without a moment's haste and that evening my friend Yvette and I were in for a treat!

Check out the pic's.

We were standing just behind Feist's three backing singers, the girls from Mountain Men.
See links below for a bit more of the background story.

MoMA, NYC (Museum of Modern Art, New York)

I was particularly interested to see this work from Joe Jones at MoMA, in NY. It's some mechanical sound installation type pieces from 1970/71, involving little battery-powered electric motors that strum on some strings, somewhat like a harp. Particularly synchronistic to see this work now, as my friend Jasmine (AKA 'Jasmina Maschine') has just been exploring ways to create a similar motorised mechanical device for a sound project in Berlin. One of the other highlights of MoMA for me was the photography section, with amazing works from early days of the medium, to some great present day works.

Berlin 2011 - Creatures at Werk

I'm here in Berlin with Beck, to work on our Creatures of a Daydream project..

Also generally checking out the offerings of mighty Berlin, from Patonk by the kanals, to buying some nice boots, and also hanging out with Gus and other mates in the MegaHub of gritsville Europa.
