MoMA, NYC (Museum of Modern Art, New York)
I was
particularly interested to see this work from Joe Jones at MoMA, in NY.
It's some mechanical sound installation type pieces from
1970/71, involving little battery-powered electric motors that strum on some
strings, somewhat like a harp.
Particularly synchronistic to see this work now, as my friend Jasmine
(AKA 'Jasmina Maschine') has just been exploring ways to create a
similar motorised mechanical device for a sound project in Berlin.
One of the other highlights of MoMA for me was the photography section,
with amazing works from early days of the medium, to some great present
day works.
